| It's better to practice for half an hour every day at the same time each day that for four hours once or twice a week. Once your fingers have calloused, you can practice longer (an hour). | ||

Practice scales and finger exercises. Speed and technique will come with time. I practiced scales at 60 bpm for what seemed like forever. Every note had to be perfect. Now I can play at about 180 bpm with no problem.

| Daviemac, I don't think you should weigh in on answering questions for people until you are more experienced yourself. Your the same guy that posted the thread "whats the best sounding chord?"...lol Just practice until it hurts then rest. You can practice more than once a day if you rest in between. Take a day off in between too if you really hit it hard one day. But ultimately practice, learn scales and work em over until your fingers do what your brain tells them to do, learn a variety of chords, pick a few songs you like and play them over and over until you feel good about it then move on to more technical stuff. But in the end just have fun. | ||
